Placements from January 2010 to now…

Since the beginning of this year, we’ve placed 81 people with our ScienceLink and Jobfit wage funding in full-time, on-going positions. The majority of our placements (72%) have a technical component to them and are funded through the ScienceLink program.
Here are some examples of the technical positions we have filled:
- Java Developers
- Web designers
- Junior Architect
- Lab Analyst
- Technical Sales (5 tech sales positions, actually)
- Technical Support
- VFX Artist
- A variety of other Developers (various languages and various skill levels)
- A Dental Technician
Also included in the ScienceLink program? Trades positions. Positions which require apprenticeships fall in what’s called the “techno-trades” category. This makes them eligible for the ScienceLink funding. Included in those 58 ScienceLink placements are a junior auto mechanic and an apprentice welder.
The month continues to be busy and upcoming placements include an R&D Lab Tech position, a Scaffolding Engineer and a Data Engineer. And I’m not exactly sure what a Data Engineer does, so I’d better review the Work Experience Plan for that position ASAP.
