Don’t forget the library.

Another resource for finding work in the Lower Mainland – The Vancouver Public Library.
There’s a department in the library called InfoAction, and they provide free career workshops to any unemployed individuals who are legally able to work in Canada. It’s a 6 hour course – perfect for someone new to Vancouver and looking to familiarize themselves with what’s happening in BC.
Also located in the library is the Skilled Immigrant Infocentre – another resource for foreign trained individuals looking to get into their field, in Canada. This is another free service to help people get back to work.
The VPL is a good place to get familiar with the local businesses where you can find the latest copies of Business in Vancouver and The Georgia Strait.
They also provide free internet service, and free wifi if you have a valid library card. Don’t forget the DVD library – you can rent those for free.
And all those books.
